Magee Advocacy assists families in the process of obtaining appropriate special education services to meet their child’s individual needs. The goal is to maximize the resources available to assist children so that measurable progress may be achieved.
We will walk you through the entire process -- from the initial request for evaluation by the Child Study Team; to the eligibility meeting, where it will be determined if your child requires special education -- we will be there to advocate for your child's rights.
If it is determined that your child qualifies under one of the 14 classification categories for special education, we will guide you through the process of developing and implementing the Individualized Education Program (IEP) along with your child's IEP Team.
In addition to an appropriate instructional program, your child's IEP will describe any related services that your child may require. Related services may include school-based therapies, speech-language services, counseling, assistive technology, as well as special transportation services. There are numerous other related services that may be provided, based on your child's individual needs. From behavioral services and supports to an extended school year, we will help you to identify the related services needed to make sure your child's IEP includes those that are appropriate.
Magee Advocacy will be there every step of the way to advocate for your child's right to a free, appropriate, public education (FAPE).
